Waste Water Treatment Operator's

The Opportunity
Our Wastewater Treatment Operator is tasked with providing wastewater treatment services to various Clean Harbors and customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and processes, and acting in a safe manner at all time;

  • Operates and maintains Mobile Wastewater Treatment plants, Water Treatment plants and related systems;

  • Collects water and wastewater samples by following proper procedures;

  • Controls the operation, monitoring and inspection of process equipment within plants including: pumps and motors, compressors, screens, overhead cranes, membranes, chemical pumps and associated equipment;

  • Ensures process operations are continuously monitored for performance within specifications;

  • Performs accurate manual calculations of flow rates, pumping times, chemical pump draw downs, etc. as required;

  • Troubleshoots and corrects process issues and mechanical failures;

  • Accurately records data readings and assists supervisors with the interpretation of performance data;

  • Ensures compliance in accordance to Department of Environmental Protection permitting and sampling requirements;

  • Serve as operator-of-record on projects with NJDEP BGR permits and Treatment Works Authorizations

  • Completes and submits all associated paperwork, as required, for regulatory and safety record keeping requirements, including Monthly Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs);

  • Work in the field for 1-3 days at a time without returning home.


  • Water & Wastewater Operators Certification or ability to obtain within two months of start date (New Jersey's N-2) required;

  • 3-years wastewater experience preferred;

  • Completion of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection approved Industrial Wastewater training course;

  • Proven Department of Environmental Protection permitting and sampling knowledge;

  • Valid drivers' license and clean driving record

  • Additional operator licenses or certifications in PA, MD, DE are not required but preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
