Sr. Cost Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

  • Analysis of changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing method, and services to evaluate the impact on product costs and margins
  • Collection, validation, and analysis of data to determine impact of business activity including raw material purchases, inventory levels and turnover, labor and overhead costs, and overall product gross margin
  • Provide management with improvement opportunities in yield, labor efficiencies, and overhead utilization
  • Analysis of actual manufacturing results and preparation of periodic reports and presentations
  • Periodic reporting on the global cycle counting program
  • Analysis of site level cycle counting activities
  • Periodic review of Excess & Obsolete inventories, including disposition analysis and recommendations
  • Monitor and review fixed asset budgets, acquisitions, and inventories
  • Assistance in internal and external audits, physical inventories, month-end financial closing procedures, and budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5-7 years related progressive experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lean knowledge and practical experience is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems including Syteline or Infor Could Suite Industrial is a plus.

  • Good organizational and mathematical skills to assure timely goal completion and accurate record reporting.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
